Office Building in Moscow
December 2012
10-13 4th Setunsky Proezd, Moscow, Russia
The building is located on the territory of growing business center in Moscow. It's design was held in complex with the development of the concept of the entire territory.
The owner changed his decisions periodically according to current business models, as a result the functions and concepts of reconstructed and new buildings were also significantly changing.
The new office was supposed to be built first, so special attention was initially paid to it. It also has changed, but less than other objects on the territory.
The building has rectangular form and consists of six aboveground floors with built-up ventilation chamber and a basement. The dimensions of the building in the axes are 24 x 16 m. In the basement there is a complex of saunas with block of engineering rooms. Two separated emergency stairs are designed in the basement. On the floors from ground to the fourth there are offices and utility rooms. The owner preferred to have his office on the sixth floor.
It wasn't possible to do avoid the simplification of architectural decisions during the construction. At the same time, many things, for example, counterpoints of retracted balconies, were preserved. In the composition of the facades there was a light principle of randomness, which made it possible to avoid noticeable mistakes in the dimensions. The principle of division into glazed and blind areas preserved the original idea as much as possible even after the reduction of the construction's price.
